Max Meyer, 18, was given a five-year contract extension at the German Bundesliga football club Schalke 04.
The extension, which was given Sunday, will keep the attacking midfielder to serve Schalke 04 until 2018, reports Xinhua.
The talented midfielder has gained breath-taking progress in the past few months and won the credential from the club.
"It is excellent news for the club," said Schalke general manager Horst Heldt.
"Many professionals in the game have predicted a great career in football for him."
Mayer joined the Schalke youth team from Duisburg in 2009 at age 14. He came up to pitch as a substitute for the final 15 minutes in Schalke's 3-0 win at home to VFB Stuttgart on Saturday, which propelled the club to fifth in the league.
