A scholars' group in Libya urged the army, police and citizens in general to stand against the Ansar Al-Sharia group and their diktat.

In a statement released Monday, the Libya Scholars League condemned the Takfiri group's calls for killing Muslims who do not adopt their thoughts, MENA news agency reported.

It urged citizens not to cover up the acts of such groups, and said whoever commits such acts would be a partner of their criminal actions.

Ansar Al-Sharia is a Islamist militant group that advocates the implementation of Sharia laws across Libya.
