Sensex trades flat during pre-noon trade

A benchmark index of Indian equities markets was trading flat at 90.81 points or 0.45 percent up in the pre-noon trade Friday.

Good buying was observed in IT, technology, media and entertainment (TECK) and banking index (bankex) sectors, while selling pressure was seen in metal sector.

The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 20,265.13 points, was trading at 20,284.16 points in the pre-noon session, up 90.81 points or 0.45 percent from the previous day's close at 20,193.35 points.

The Sensex touched a high of 20,313.02 points and a low of 20,166.08 points during the trade so far.

The S&P BSE IT index gained 123.43 points, TECK index augmented by 62.41 points and bankex inched up by 74.12 points.

The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was trading flat at 24.35 points or 0.41 percent at 6,025.45 points.
