Six-time Wimbledon champion Serena Williams withdrew from the Swedish Open, the media reported.
The US star was due to play in the round of 16 but withdrew from the tournament on Thursday with an elbow injury, reported Xinhua.
"I am devastated, but I'll be back some day," Williams said.
"I got hurt when I hit the ball. I have had problems and the doctors said it would be best not make it worse," she said, adding that she is positive to continue her journey towards the full Grand Slam in 2015.
She claimed the sixth wimbeldon title on July 11.
