The Congress Tuesday asked the NDA government at the centre to put a time limit to the fulfillment of the schemes and promises made in President Pranab Mukherjee's address Monday.

"You don't have time-bound programmes. I request the government to tell what they can show after one year or 100 days as against what they will do in 10 years. They are forgetting that the report card of every government comes after five years," leader of the party in the Lok Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge said while participating in the debate on the motion of thanks on the president's address in the lower house.

Kharge said that many of the schemes and promises made in the president's address had already been introduced by the previous UPA government and have been merely modified by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

"There are a lot of issues in the president's address which are speaking about things which have already been done by the previous UPA government. All good schemes of the previous government were renamed or modified and were presented. These things for the poor have already been done," he said.

Kharge said his party would support all constructive things, but cautioned the government against being too confident of their decisive mandate.

"If they (BJP) can become 282 seats from two, then we can surely become 400 plus from 44," he said, drawing laughter from the opposition benches.
