Lt. Governor Anil Baijal on Thursday asked Delhi Police to explore if technology-enabled kiosks can be set up to provide people various services electronically without human interface.

Baijal chaired a review meeting on general law and order with Delhi Police. He suggested the Police plan these kiosks in such a way that they are not very complicated for the common man.

Delhi Police made a detailed presentation for the provision of services, which is currently in the conceptual stage.

Some of the salient features of the kiosks are complaint registration; capturing biometric/aadhaar card/mobile phone etc; a graphic user interface; speech to text and text to speech facility; natural language processing; reinforcement learning and self-learning; acknowledgement and copy of the complaint issued.

The kiosks will also help in senior citizen registration, Himmat Plus registration, domestic help and tenant verification, police clearance certificate and character verification reports.

It will also provide applications for licence; e-FIR; lost and found reporting; stolen vehicles; unclaimed vehicles; information about arrested persons and RTI.
