Seven suspected members of the Islamic State (IS) were detained on Thursday in two districts of the Turkish province of Gaziantep, officials said.
Five Turkish suspects were trying to enter the country illegally from Syria in the Karkamis district, while two foreign suspects were caught in the Oguzeli district, said the statement on the website of Gaziantep Governor's office, Xinhua news agency reported.
Legal proceedings have been taken against the suspects for being member of terror organisation and violating a military forbidden zone, according to the statement.
Meanwhile, the Turkish Armed Forces increased precautions along the border after multiple attacks by the IS on the southern province of Kilis.
Tanks, sent from Gaziantep Fifth Armored Brigade, are now situated more closely together along the border, a military source told Daily Hurriyet.
The IS has suffered heavy losses due to the Turkish deployment of drones along with the strikes, the security source added.
