Veteran actress and activist Shabana Azmi has been chosen as a jury member for Isa Award for Service to Humanity in Bahrain.
"Off 2 Bahrain for one day as Jury Member for ISA Award for Humanity (1 million US dollars) instituted by the King," she tweeted Sunday.
The Isa Award for Service to Humanity endeavours to encourage humanitarian acts of future generations to come.
Established in 2009 by Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, king of Bahrain, the award was established to honour the individuals and organisations around the globe that have served humanity in a profound way.
The award is given every two years to an individual or organisation selected by a committee of experts.
The laureate will be awarded a certificate of merit, a gold medal, and a prize of one million dollars.
