A sharpshooter has been arrested here with an accomplice for killing an eyewitness to a murder last year, police said on Tuesday.
Sonu, 24, and his associate Shekhar, 23, residents of two villages in west Delhi, were arrested following a tip off on Monday evening when they came in a car to Rohini to meet a contact.
"Sonu carried a reward of Rs 25,000 on his head. Apart from murder, kidnapping and other crimes, he was involved in the contract killing of Ratan Lal, an eyewitness to a crime when he in his shop," Deputy Commissioner of Police Sanjeev Kumar Yadav said.
Lal was a key witness against Manjeet in the murder of his son Gaurav in March 2016 in Delhi. In order to weaken the case, Lal was murdered although he was provided security by Delhi Police, Yadav said.
"Sonu was hired by Manjeet for Rs 2 lakh for killing Lal," the officer added.
