Sheila Dikshit sworn in Kerala governor

Former Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit was sworn in as the 22nd governor of Kerala at Raj Bhavan here Tuesday. Kerala High Court Chief Justice Manjula Chellur administered the oath of office.

Dikshit replaced Nikhil Kumar who was in office for less than an year (March 23, 2013-March 5, 2014) and was pulled out to allow him to contest the Lok Sabha polls from Bihar.

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and his cabinet colleagues were among the many guests who attended the swearing-in ceremony.

Monday night, activists of the Kerala unit of the Aam Aadmi Party held a candle light protest against Dikshit.
