Filmmaker Shekar Kammula, known for helming Telugu films such as "Happy Days" and "Anaika", will next team up with actor Varun Tej for a yet-untitled Telugu outing.

"It's a story of an American boy who falls in love with a girl from Telangana. It will be an emotional drama," read a statement from the makers.

The film will be bankrolled by Dil Raju, and might go on the floors later this year.

"Varun has a project with Srinu Vaitla in his kitty. It has to be seen whether this project will go on the floors first or Kammula's film," a source close to Varun told IANS.

Pre-production work of Kammula's film is currently underway.
