Shots fired at US Capitol

The US Capitol was placed on a security lockdown Thursday after multiple gunshots were fired outside the complex, police said. People were ordered to remain in the buildings.

There were shots fired by an unknown gunman at about 2:19 p.m., Xinhua reported citing a Washington Post report.

It was not immediately confirmed if anyone was shot dead or wounded in the incident.
