Shuttler Prannoy enters Vietnam Open semis

Indian shuttler H.S. Prannoy progressed to the men's singles semi-finals of the $50,000 Vietnam Open Grand Prix by notching a straight games win in the last eight encounter at the Tan Binh Sports Center here Friday.

The fifth seed took 42 minutes to dispatch Indonesian ninth seed Andre Kurniawan Tedjono 21-13, 21-19 in their first meeting on the circuit.

In the last-four match, the youngster will take on Malaysian 10th seed Chun Seang Tan for a place in Sunday's summit clash.
