Sirisena saddened by Chennai floods

Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena on Thursday expressed grief over the flood disaster in Tamil Nadu, saying his "heart goes out to our neighbours in Chennai".

The people of Chennai are going through a "difficult time", the president tweeted.

In response, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted: "Thank you Maithripala Sirisena for your concern and support."
