Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh Friday said a letter has been sent to a company promoted by Alfred Ford to know its keenness to execute a multi-billion-dollar tourist resort near Manali.
"The government wrote a letter to Himalayan Ski Village Aug 5," the chief minister told the assembly.
As per the detailed project report prepared by the company in 2007, the company proposes to acquire 116 hectares of land, including 68.2 hectares private land, he said.
"Now after getting mandatory clearances, the company would bring out how much land it requires," he said.
The Congress government had in 2005 allowed Ford to construct the resort.
Official sources said the delay in commissioning the project was causing an annual loss of Rs.30-50 crore to the state as royalty.
