Janmashtami is observed as the celebration of lord Krishna's birth.

Several Hindi general entertainment TV channels are celebrating it with a twist in the plot.

Zee TV will have the celebrations organised in their show, "Neeli Chatri Waale", where there will be a 'Jhaanki' (procession) being decorated and a fancy dress competition organised in which the children will be seen dressing up as Krishna and their parents would dress up as Devki and Yashodha, read a statement.

Colors channel will celebrate 'Dahi Handi', bringing in twists to their shows "Sasural Simar Ka", "Udaan" and "Swaragini - Jodein Rishton Ke Sur" to create drama and mystery.
