Independent mobile payments company MobiKwik on Thursday said South India has emerged as the leading bus ticket booking region on its platform.
"Bus (ticket) booking on MobiKwik was launched in response to the demand from our users. We are delighted by the encouraging numbers that have south India in the forefront and thank our users for making this service a success," said MobiKwik Chief Operating Officer Mrinal Sinha in a statement.
South India contributed to 40 per cent bus ticket booking with Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai emerging as the top cities.
MobiKwik said Hyderabad to Bengaluru is the most popular route followed by Bengaluru to Chennai and Delhi to Jaipur.
The company aims to facilitate 25,000 bus ticket booking by December 2016.
Founded in 2009 by Bipin Preet Singh and Upasana Taku, MobiKwik connects 30 million users to 1,00,000 retailers.
