Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan greeted the people on the eve of Ganesh Chaturthi festival that starts Friday.
In her message Thursday, Mahajan said that Lord Ganesha embodies the virtues of wisdom, harmony, peace and prosperity.
"One may be rich or poor, Lord Ganesha removes all obstacles in one's worldly as well as spiritual pursuits and, as such, He is close to everyone's heart," she said.
"On the pious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, let us rededicate ourselves to these human values, celebrate our cultural heritage and strive to be a better human being," she added.
