Portuguese football club Sporting Lisbon congratulated its former striker Cristiano Ronaldo for Real Madrid's victory over Atletico Madrid at the Champions League final.
"Congratulations to @Cristiano, best player in the world and our member number 100,000, for winning the #UCLfinal!" the club posted on its Twitter account.
Ronaldo, 31, entered the Portuguese club's squad when he was 12 years old, until he was hired by Manchester United at the age of 18 for 18 million euros ($20 million), reports Efe.
He later joined Real Madrid in 2009 for 94 million euros ($104.5 million).
Real Madrid defeated Atletico Madrid 5-3 on penalties to win their 11th Champions League title on Saturday.
