The Srinagar-Leh Highway was closed on Thursday after fresh snowfall at the Zojila Pass that connects the cold desert Ladakh region with the Kashmir Valley.
A traffic management official said the Highway has been closed for vehicular moment as a precautionary measure.
Due to heavy snowfall at the Zojila Pass, which is situated at 11,575 feet above the sea level, the Srinagar-Leh Highway remains closed for nearly six months from November to April.
The Met department has forecast moderate snowfall in the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir for three days beginning on Thursday.
