A huge crowd surrounded the entrance to Shah Rukh Khan's Bandra bungalow Mannat here Friday on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. The superstar made it special for everyone, especially his fans, by waving to them and wishing them "Eid mubarak".
The Bollywood Badshah invited mediapersons over for the festival to his residence, where he also held a press conference and an Eid 'daawat' complete with traditional sevaiyyan and biryani.
His family - wife Gauri Khan, children - Aryan and Suhana, as well as sister Shehnaz joined him in waving to the frenzied fans gathered outside.
For the press gathering at the compound of Mannat, SRK was joined by Rohit Shetty, director of his latest release "Chennai Express". The film released Friday.
Addressing the media, Shah Rukh said: "Eid Mubarak! It is a very happy day. I like to celebrate my birthday and Eid with you all. I am here just to wish you."
The compound was decorated with beautiful lillies and carnations for the festival.
Earlier in the day, Shah Rukh had tweeted how he had to force his children to wear new clothes. He said he wanted to make sure they come in front of the media and the public to greet everyone.
"They feel embarrassed and will also be angry with me because I forced them. But they must learn how to come and say 'Hello'. But they are embarrassed and shy," he said.
Nevertheless, the 47-year-old actor says he loves to wave out to the public on occasions like his birthday and Eid because it is due to their love that he is what he is.
"I don't enjoy celebrating these days personally as much as I enjoy celebrating with the public. Whatever I am today, is because of them," he said.
Shah Rukh also said he will have an Eid party for his friends Saturday.
