Croatian football team chief coach Ante Cacic confirmed on Tuesday that captain Darijo Srna will return on Tuesday night to the training camp in France after attending his father's funeral in Metkovic.

Srna learned of the death of his father just after the Euro 2016 match on Monday against Turkey, which Croatia won 1-0, reports Efe.

His father died before the match but Srna was only told after it was over.

Cacic said Srna knew his father was dying, but news like that is always surprising and the pain is great, adding that the player will join the team on Tuesday and be at the same level.
