Atletico Madrid midfielder Jorge "Koke" Resurreccion has said winning 1-0 over Las Palmas in the La Liga opener was "important" for his team, as the beginning of the championship is typically not easy.
Atletico will improve gradually, Koke said during a publicity event with Argentine teammate Luciano Vietto by his side, adding that they can't win every game, so getting those three points in the beginning could be crucial, reports Efe.
"The team deals well with pressure, and this season boasts talents unparalleled in recent years," Koke said on Tuesday.
As for Koke's personal aspirations, having featured in his 150th game with Atletico on Saturday, the 23-year-old said he is only thinking about defeating Sevilla next Sunday, adding that he is happy with what he has achieved, and vowed to keep on improving.
