A 13-year-old student in Tamil Nadu's Vellore district was killed by his classmate, to whom he had sold his mobile phone, after they quarrelled over the payment, police said on Thursday.
The incident came to light after P. Santhosh's body was found near his school in Vellore, around 140 km from here, on Thursday morning.
"On Wednesday, Santhosh did not reach home. His parents contacted his school authorities. On enquiries, it was found out that Santhosh was last seen with his classmate," a police official told IANS over phone.
The police official said that Santhosh had given a phone to his classmate, and there seems to have been a fight between the two boys on Wednesday in which Santhosh was hit and lost his life. Investigations are on, the official added.
