A team of students involved in the building of satellite Sathyabamasat called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, an official here said.
The students were accompanied by Vice Chancellor of Sathyabama University B. Sheela Rani.
"The Prime Minister appreciated the efforts of the team in building a satellite to collect data on greenhouse gases," an official statement later said.
Sathyabamasat was one of the 20 satellites launched by the Indian Space Research Organisation using launch vehicle PSLV-C34 on June 22 last.
