Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez of Barcelona is convinced that Lionel Messi "will reconsider" a return to the Argentina national football team, from which he announced his withdrawal after the last edition of the Copa America.
"He's fine, he's having a good vacation and like every player, he's excited to get back to training," Efe quoted Suarez as saying in a press conference on Friday.
"As a friend and an admirer of football I'd like to see him stay with Argentina's national team. His love for country is not up for discussion, but you also have to understand him after losing the final. I think he'll reconsider," he added.
Asked about the chances of Cristiano Ronaldo winning the Ballon d'Or, Suarez said "Leo is the best player in the world. Whether or not he wins that prize he is the best player by far. He has more of an effect on the game than anyone else."
