It was a sunny, windy day in the capital Tuesday and the maximum temperature settled two notches below average at 35.7 degrees Celsius. The Met office has forecast rains Wednesday.
"The skies will be cloudy tomorrow (Wednesday), parts of the city will get rain and thunderstorms," an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
The maximum and minimum temperatures will hover around 34 and 28 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Tuesday's minimum temperature was 27.8 degrees - average for this time of the season.
Monday's maximum temperature settled at 39.4 degrees Celsius, two notches above average, while the minimum temperature settled at 30.3 degrees Celsius, three notches above average.
Monsoon arrived in Delhi June 16, a fortnight ahead of schedule, but the national capital has not received any rain since, due to a weak phase of the monsoon, said the IMD.
