India's fastest elite runners have confirmed they will participate in the eighth edition of the Delhi Half Marathon to be held on November 29.
Headlining the starting line among the male runners are defending champion Suresh Kumar, and leaders Govind Singh, Rahul Kumar Pal and Nitendra Singh Rawat. The field will be joined by Rattiram Saini, Kheta Ram, and Man Singh, who have earlier participated in the 21-km race.
Also joining in are Gopi T. and Mohammed Yunus, who recently participated in the Open National Athletics Championship.
The foremost among women are Olympian Sudha Singh, O.P. Jaisha, who has qualified for the 2016 Rio Olympics and is the national record holder in marathons, and Monica Athare, who is returning to better her 2014 runner-up title.
The trio will join Lalita Babar, who set a new national record at the World Athletics Championships earlier this year, and Kavita Raut.
The race will flag off and finish at the iconic Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium here.
