Actor Sushant Singh Rajput is set to make his ramp debut at the Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2016. He is to walk for ace fashion designer and couturier Manish Malhotra.
The five-day fashion gala, which will start from August 24, is slated to take place at St. Regis Hotel here and Malhotra will showcase on the first day of the event at ITC Grand Central.
The designer, who has styled the celebrities like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, took to Twitter to make the announcement.
"Dapper Sushant Singh Rajput to walk for my show Lakme Fashion Week (LFW), Etihad Airways, Manish Malhotra xtech collection fashion show," he tweeted.
An "excited" Sushant, who is gearing up for his upcoming biopic "M.S. Dhoni -- The Untold Story" based on the life of Indian cricket skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, is happy for making his ramp debut.
"And I am extremely excited. This will be my debut on ramp and what a start for rockstar Manish Malhotra," Sushant tweeted.
Actress Shraddha Kapoor will also be walking the ramp as a showstopper for the designer's collection.
"Gorgeous Shraddha Kapoor to walk for my show Manish Malhotra XTech," Manish announced.
The designer also shared this would be the first time the "Kai Po Che!" star and the "Baaghi" actress together will turn muse for him.
"For the first time Shraddha Kapoor, Sushant Singh Rajput together for my fashion show as my muses Lakme Fashion Week Etihad Airways," he added.
Malhotra's new collection spotlights Indian craftsmanship combined with modern silhouettes. The fashion house will showcase its signature embroidery work with textured colours meshing with subtle shimmer and sparkle.
One can also expect statement ensembles and handcrafted evening wear that will make a trousseau special for every moment surrounding a wedding. The show promises to be an experiential setting with a celebration for all the to-be brides.
The designer will will also transform the runway into a Virtual Reality show in association Etihad Airways post the fashion gala.
