The Samajwadi Party (SP) on Saturday revoked the suspension of five legislators, who were not only suspended from the legislature party but also from membership of the party for anti-party activists.
General secretary Ram Gopal Yadav said in a statement that five legislators from Sitapur - Rampal Yadav, Mahendra Singh, Radhe Shyam Jaiswal, Manish Rawat and Anoop Gupta - been suspended for acting against party interests during the panchayat polls, but national president Mulayam Singh Yadav had now revoked their suspension with immediate effect.
Uttar Pradesh's ruling party had cracked down on several leaders for not toeing the party line and working against the party's official candidates.
