A 'Swachh Bharat Run' was organised at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Saturday.

"The Rashtrapati Bhavan woke up this morning to a 'Swachh Bharat Run'. The run in which around 1,500 people participated was flagged off by President Pranab Mukherjee," a statement from the Rashtrapati Bhavan said.

The statement added that the president also joined the participants for a brief stretch.

Participants in the run included officers and staff of the secretariat, the President's Body Guard and Delhi Police, as well as their families.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Oct 2 launched the 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan', a nation-wide campaign which seeks to clean up the country in five years.
