Beirut, Nov 3 (IANS/EFE) Syrian Nour al-Sham TV presenter Batoul Moukhles was killed on Tuesday in a terrorist attack in the Damascus countryside, according to Syrian official news agency SANA.
Moukhles, who was also a presenter on Damascus Radio station, died in the Harasta suburb after she sustained shrapnel wounds from a mortar shell when she was on her way to work.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) confirmed the death of a presenter in al-Assad district in Harasta, northeast of the Syrian capital, but it did not identify the victim by name.
The London-based NGO said fighting was still ongoing between government troops and rebels on the outskirts of Daraya town, southwest of Damascus.
Since March 2011, Syria has been a scene of a conflict that has left over 250,000 people dead, according to the SOHR.
