Tata International, the global trading and distribution arm of the Tata group, Friday named G.K. Pillai as chairman of the company with effect from Sep 26.
He succeeds B. Muthuraman who retires from the Tata group, Tata International said in a statement here.
Pillai, a retired Indian Administrative Service officer of the 1972 batch and an alumnus of Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, has previously held the positions of home secretary, commerce secretary and justice secretary. He has also been India's chief negotiator at the WTO.
