A TDP candidate was injured Monday in an attack by honey bees in Warangal district of Telangana.

E. Dayakar Rao sustained stings of the bees during campaigning in Ramannagudem in Warangal district.

The incident took place when the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) candidate was standing on his special vehicle for campaigning in the area. As the vehicle was passing under a tree, his supporters tried to make way by clearing the branches. This disturbed a hive of the honey bees, who attacked Rao and others accompanying him.

The TDP leader, who is seeking re-election from Palakurthy assembly constituency, rushed to the nearby house of a party activist and suspended the campaigning for the day.
