TDP legislator A. Revanth Reddy was on Wednesday released from jail, a month after he was arrested in the cash-for-vote case.

His family, friends and supporters welcomed him as he came out of Cherlapally Jail.

A Large number of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) workers had gathered outside the jail to receive the legislator.

Though the Hyderabad High Court had granted him bail on Tuesday, he could not be released due to some technical problems. On a petition by Revanth's lawyer, the court amended the orders.

After completion of the bail formalities, the TDP leader was finally released from jail.

The court had also ordered the release of two other accused, Sebastian Harry and Uday Simha, on bail.

Revanth Reddy told media persons that he was implicated in a false case by Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao as he had been fighting against the wrongdoings of his family.

The ACB had arrested Revanth Reddy, the TDP deputy leader in the Telangana assembly, on May 31 while he was allegedly handing over a bribe of Rs.50 lakh to nominated legislator Elvis Stephenson to induce him to vote for the TDP-BJP candidate in the Telangana legislative council elections.

Revanth's two aides were also arrested by the ACB in a trap laid on the basis of a complaint lodged by Stephenson.
