Setting a new standard of governance in Bihar, Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav solved student's woes related to various state scholarship schemes through Facebook.
Yadav on Wednesday posted on Facebook how he helped a student get his long-pending scholarship amount after he connected with him on the social networking site.
In his post Yadav said he helped a student from the state's Sitamarhi district get his scholarship amount within 48 hours.
"An engineering student told me about the non-payment of an amount promised under his matriculation scholarship and messaged his details to me on Facebook. I then got it verified by the officials and ordered them to get the money credited to his account immediately," Yadav said.
The student got money on Tuesday and has thanked him in a message online, Yadav, the younger son of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Laloo Prasad, said.
"I have got many complaints like this on Facebook and I am personally looking into all of them," Yadav said.
"We are committed to ensuring that no child in the state leaves education for lack of money," he added.
"Being a young leader, I can very well understand a youth's ambitions and dreams," he concluded.
He also attached screenshots of his conversation with the student who was all praise for Yadav.
"Thanks sir. The amount has been credited into my account. It has happened only because of you. I feel proud to have a deputy chief minister like you," the student said in his message.
The social media played a very crucial role in the recently-concluded state elections.
Techie Sanjay Yadav is believed to be the brain behind the digital campaign of the RJD.
