Temperatures plummeted across Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday with snow in high-altitude areas and rain in other parts, the Met Office said.
High hills in Kullu, Kinnaur, Lahaul-Spiti and Chamba districts experienced snowfall, said a weather department official.
Shimla and its nearby areas Kufri and Narkanda saw rains. The picturesque tourist resort Manali also saw the temperature sliding to a low of 3.6 degrees Celsius.
The Rohtang Pass, just 52 km from Manali, received snowfall.
The minimum temperature in the state capital plunged by 4.2 degrees Celsius from Monday's 9.1 degrees Celsius.
Kalpa, 250 km from Shimla, and Keylong in Lahaul and Spiti district recorded the night temperature at 0.0 degree and minus 0.1 degree Celsius, respectively.
These towns saw 4 cm and 15 cm snow, respectively.
The Met Office has forecast dry weather in the state till Thursday.
