Tendulkar strikes as West Indies reach 192/7 (Lead, Correcting headline)

India reduced the West Indies to 192 for seven at tea on the opening day of the first Test at the Eden Gardens here Wednesday. The session ended with Sachin Tendulkar picking a wicket in his first over.

Tendulkar, playing his penultimate Test, had Shane Shillingford plumb in front off the fourth ball, sending the sizeable Eden crowd into a frenzy. Shivnarine Chanderpual was at the crease on 23. Marlon Samuels was dismissed for 65.

Pacer Mohammed Shami increased his tally to three wickets in his debut Test.
