Reigning national champion V.M. Ranjeet upset top seed N. Sriram 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 to set up a semi-final date with Kaza Sharma in the Premjit Lall Invitational tournament at the Jaidip Mukherjea Tennis Academy here on Thursday.
In another quarter-final, Vishnu Vardhan swept aside Sanam Singh 6-3, 6-3 to book a last-four berth. He will be meeting Prashanth Sundar who did well to beat former Chennai Open player Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan in straight sets (6-2, 6-3).
Kaza reached the semis beating Dalwinder Singh 6-3, 6-1.
The doubles draw was also made in which Jeevan will team up with Prashanth against Vishnu and Ranjeet while Balaji will dovetail with Dalwinder against Sanam and Kaza on Friday.
