Three people, including a woman and a teen-aged girl, attempted suicide by jumping from three separate Delhi Metro stations Tuesday, police said.

In the first incident, a 25-year-old married woman Sarita Sharma, mother of two children, jumped from the Udyog Nagar Metro station in west Delhi around 9.15 a.m.

"She jumped on to the road from the Metro station and was injured in her right leg. She was taken to a hospital where her condition is said to be out of danger," a police official said.

Sharma, who resides in Peeragarhi area of west Delhi, had a dispute with her husband over some financial issue. "She made a call to her husband before jumping from the Metro station," police said.

The second incident was reported around 12.30 p.m. when Aarushi Rajput, 18, was caught by Central Industrial Security Forces (CISF) men while trying to jump from Pragati Maidan Metro station.

Police said Rajput, who resides in Dwarka in west Delhi, was upset over some family issue.

According to a CISF official, the third incident was reported from Botanical Garden Metro station in Noida around 2.20 p.m.

Ravi Yadav, 30, a resident of Sector 45 in Noida, jumped on to the road from Botanical Garden Metro station.

"He was rushed to a nearby hospital where his condition is still critical. The reason behind his extreme step is yet to be ascertained as he was unfit for statement," said the CISF official.
