Six suspects, including three Bangladeshis, have been arrested in Hyderabad during security checks ahead of Independence Day, police said on Friday.
The arrests were made in the old city area. Those arreted were being questioned at an undisclosed location.
Police sources, however, said they had no direct links with Bangladesh-based terror group Harkatul Jihad-e-Islami (HUJI).
However, they were suspected to have helped Waqas, an accused in the Dilsukhnagar bomb blasts, in crossing the border. At least 16 people were killed in the twin blasts in Dilsukhnagar area of the city on February 22, 2013.
The suspects, three of them residents of Hyderabad, were trying to leave for the Gulf by acquiring passports on the basis of fake documents.
Police were also trying to identify those who were helping these suspects.
