Three Indians arrested with banned Indian currency in Kathmandu

The police in Nepal Sunday arrested three Indian nationals from the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu on charges of smuggling banned Indian currency worth Rs.433,000.
Those arrested have been identified as A.V. Ramesh (34), G.V. Hari Prasad (45) and Bhira Raghu Bhulu (68). The trio was caught during a security check before boarding a Delhi-bound Jet Airways plane, police said in a statement.
The seized Indian currency was in Rs.500 and Rs.1,000 denomination notes which are banned in Nepal. Police have launched an investigation into the case.
