Three people were killed and seven suffered burn injuries in a blast in a firecracker factory in Rajasthan's Kota district on late Tuesday evening, a police official said.
"The explosion occurred late in the evening on Tuesday. Three persons lost their lives on the spot while treatment of seven others who sustained burn injuries is going on in hospital in Kota," the senior police official told IANS on Wednesday.
The factory is located near Chainpura area in the district, over 255 km from here.
"We have started investigations into the cause of the explosion," the police officer said, adding that prima facie it looks there was mishandling of inflammable material in the factory.
