Security forces on Sunday gunned down three top National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB-S) rebels during a series of counter-insurgency operations in Assam's Kokrajhar district, an official said.
"Retaliating to heavy non-discriminatory fire, a team of the army and Assam Police neutralised three hardcore NDFB(S) militants. Two of them have been identified as Rahul Basumatary and Ritu Basumatary," said a defence official.
Four pistols, a large quantity of ammunition, hand-grenades and other war-like stores have been recovered from the slain terrorists, the official said.
