Three teenagers were found dead Friday morning in the Yagnashala premises, close to the Bankey Bihari temple here.
They have been identified as Manoj, Akash and Kalyan from Jahangirpura in Maant tehsil of Mathura.
Accusing the priest who runs the yagnashala of murdering them, angry villagers and members of the family ransacked the area. The family members told the police that the "boys used to ring up and tell us of the atrocities perpetrated by the priest who had employed them as domestic help."
SSP Manzil Saini said prima facie something appeared wrong but only after the post-mortem examination report can action be taken, if need be.
Tension prevails in the holy town. Additional force has been deployed for security, and efforts are being made to pacify the villagers who have reached in large numbers.
