A week after a high intensity earthquake hit Bihar, the meteorological department on Saturday issued a fresh alert for thundersquall and heavy rain in the quake-affected districts.
"There is a possibility of thundersquall and heavy rains in Araria, Purnea, Katihar, Sitamarhi and other districts neighbouring Nepal that were hit by the earthquake last week," said Patna Met office director A.K. Sen.
Last week, a tropical storm that hit Purnea and adjoining districts killed nearly 60 people and caused heavy loss to crops and property.
After the massive quake on April 25 that killed at least 58 people across the state, strong winds followed by rain hit Patna and many other places.
