Rio de Janeiro, June 19 (IANS/EFE) Spain head coach Vicente del Bosque lamented his side's elimination from the FIFA World Cup due to their 0-2 loss to Chile in a Group B match, saying that it is time to think about the future.
"We pushed forward but did not have any luck. Now it is time to think about the team's future or mine. There will be plenty of time for that but not right now. We don't have any excuses. We didn't meet the standards expected of us though I would like to say that the team showed character," del Bosque said, reports EFE.
"Our elimination was deserved because our opponents were better. There are no excuses for the losses but the team tried hard and showed character. We were not lucky in front of the goal."
The 63-year-old said that the team was showered with love and support messages from fans after the 1-5 loss in the opening game against Netherlands.
