Tunis, Nov 30 (IANS/MAP) Tunisia and Morocco will strengthen their cooperation, Morocco's Foreign Affairs Minister Salaheddine Mezouar told the International Investment Conference 'Tunisia 2020' here, media reported on Wednesday.
"The Kingdom of Morocco congratulates Tunisian authorities on the successful drawing up of the five-year plan 'Tunisia 2020' which marks a new stage in Tunisia's development process," Mezouar said at the conference, which kicked off on Tuesday in Tunis.
The Moroccan minister called on economic partners, particularly from the north, to play a "decisive role" in order to consolidate "complementarities and build solidarities between the two shores of the Mediterranean".
Morocco, for its part, will continue to support Tunisia's development efforts and will share its experience in various areas, including renewable energies, Mezouar added.
Upon high royal instructions, he is representing Morocco at the International Investment Conference "Tunisia 2020" and to send "a message of solidarity to Tunisia and beyond, as it is a commitment to action", Mezouar told MAP new agency.
King Mohammed VI "has demonstrated this commitment through actions by paying an official visit to Tunisia, when the country has been hit by attacks", the Minister recalled.
A five-year plan launched in 2016, 'Tunisia 2020' is designed to enable the country to achieve an annual growth rate of over 4 per cent by 2020.
