Two policemen have been arrested in Bihar for attempting to rape a woman constable while drunk, officials said Monday.
Havaldars Dudhnath Prasad and Shamsul Zoha Khan were arrested from Laheriyasarai in Darbhanga district on the orders of Deputy Inspector General of Police Anwar Hussain after the woman constable of the Bihar Military Police lodged a complaint against them.
The incident took place Sunday when the victim was in Samastipur, around 100 km from Patna, on official duty.
The complaint was filed in a women's police station in Samastipur district, Samastipur Superintendent of Police Chandrika Prasad Singh said.
Officials said both accused were drunk when they tried to rape the woman after inviting her to their room.
