Two officers of the Chandigarh Police were among four people arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in a Rs.40 lakh bribery case, CBI sources said here on Thursday.
The sources said that the arrested officers were a deputy superintendent of police (DSP) and an inspector, both associated with the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Chandigarh Police.
A businessman was also arrested.
The sources said that the accused had sought a bribe of Rs.40 lakh to settle a property dispute matter that was being investigated by the EOW.
More details were awaited as investigations were still in progress.
